Welcome to the New Members page. We are glad that you have found your way here. You may be wondering what membership entails at NPC. We offer New Member classes three to four times a year so that you can learn more about us, and what membership at NPC both offers and requires.

Sunday School is available for children who have turned 3 years by September 1 through 8th grade (please register with Children’s Ministry). When the New Member Class meets on a Saturday, free childcare is available for children 3 months to 4 years.
To register for the New Member Class or for more information, please contact Julie Colbath at 655-1451 ext 14 or julie.colbath@norotonchurch.org. Our New Members class centers around the four Membership Vows in the Presbyterian Church. They are:
Q. Who is your Lord and Savior? A. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior Q. Do you trust in him? A. I do. Q. Do you intend to be His disciple, to obey His word and to show His love? A. I do. Q. Will you be a faithful member of this congregation, giving of yourself in every way, and will you seek the fellowship of the Church wherever you may be? A. I will. At the class, pastors give talks on what it means to be a Christian, a disciple, a Presbyterian, and a member of NPC. Participants have their questions answered and join into discussion in small groups. Elders and team leaders introduce their ministries and invite new members to join in. Participants meet the pastors, other new members and members of the Session. If you choose to join the church, you will answer the membership questions in front of the Session at the end of the class. You will also be introduced to the congregation in worship on the Sunday following the last class, usually at the 10:30 service. We would love to have you join us! |
